about

So I've had this idea kicking around for about 75 years to create a piece of music for each of the elements in the Periodic Table. This will obviously require filling a number of volumes! Is there really any influence on the music drawn from the element itself? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Its a bit difficult to get a rush of creative spark from something with a half life less than the blink of an eye, but what the heck.. I don't have to worry about coming up with titles for a few years! Some of this music is improvised. I have gone in after the initial tracking to embellish certain parts, or to arrange things in a way that made sense to me. There are also carefully thought out melodies and motifs to be sure, and also a good dose of electronic chaos in some pieces.

I really hope you enjoy this first volume. I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I do hope you'll give it a try. And though good music will be enjoyable even on laptop speakers to many, you will appreciate this more, due to its "soundscape/cinematic" qualities, on a reasonably good set of speakers or heaphones. And dig the always amazing artwork of Linda Palmer. ( www.ponor.info )

I have already begun work on the next volume, which will be approached from a decidedly different angle. Thank you.
